These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern the use of Toname Shokunin / Matchup Master (the "App"). By installing, launching, using, saving data with, or sharing data from the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. App purpose
The App is a tool for creating, editing, saving, exporting, printing, and sharing tournament brackets, match cards, results, participant names, notes, event dates, venues, and related tournament information. The App assists tournament administration, but it does not guarantee the validity of any tournament, the accuracy of match results, agreement among participants, prizes, rankings, rules, or dispute resolution.
2. User responsibility
You are responsible for the tournament names, participant names, organization names, venue names, notes, match results, PDFs, images, backups, and any other content you enter, export, print, post, or share. You must have the necessary rights, permissions, and consents before entering or sharing personal names, names of minors, school or organization information, confidential information, or other personal data.
3. Prohibited conduct
You may not use the App to: - violate laws, regulations, public order, or third-party rights; - infringe privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, reputation, or other rights; - publish false, misleading, discriminatory, harassing, or unlawful information; - facilitate unauthorized access, spam, harassment, illegal gambling, or other inappropriate activity; - reverse engineer, modify, tamper with, or remove notices from the App except where permitted by law; - violate the terms of Apple, the App Store, sharing destinations, or third-party services.
4. Data storage and management
Tournament data is generally stored on your device. You are responsible for managing your device, backups, exported files, and shared files. Data may be lost due to device loss, malfunction, OS updates, app deletion, storage corruption, backup failure, or other events. The developer does not guarantee permanent storage, recovery, compatibility, or completeness of your data.
5. Exporting and sharing
The App may provide PDF export, image export, JSON backup export, printing, and sharing through iOS/iPadOS/macOS system features. You are responsible for the content, destination, visibility, retention, deletion, posting, printing, and redistribution of exported or shared data. Destination apps, cloud services, social networks, messaging services, print services, and recipients are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
6. Pro features and in-app purchases
The App provides free features and paid Pro features. See the App for the features included with Pro. Only a lifetime purchase is offered for new purchases through the App Store. Monthly and yearly subscriptions are no longer offered for new purchases. Existing subscriptions provide access to Pro while a valid entitlement can be verified.
Purchases, prices, taxes, payment methods, renewals, cancellations, refunds, Family Sharing, purchase history, and subscription management are handled by Apple and your Apple Account settings. The developer does not directly manage your payment card number, payment method, or refund eligibility. Subscriptions may renew automatically unless canceled through Apple's subscription management tools. Prices, free limitations, and Pro feature contents may change as required by law, App Store rules, or operational needs.
7. Free version limitations
The free version may limit the number of tournaments, participant counts, export formats, watermark removal, tournament formats, or other features. The limitations shown inside the App take precedence. These limitations may change in future versions.
8. Updates and changes
The App may be updated or changed without prior notice for feature additions, bug fixes, design changes, internal data structure changes, supported OS changes, security improvements, or App Store requirements. If saved data cannot be loaded, the App displays a recovery screen without automatically deleting the existing data. Clearing all tournament data or replacing it from a backup requires your confirmation.
9. Intellectual property
The App, screens, designs, software, logos, icons, text, and related intellectual property belong to the developer or the relevant rights holders. Rights in tournament names, participant names, notes, match results, and other user-entered content remain with you or the relevant rights holders. You grant the App permission to process, store, display, and export that content on your device as necessary to provide the App's features.
10. Third-party services
The App may use Apple-provided services and system features such as the App Store, StoreKit, iOS/iPadOS/macOS sharing, file storage, printing, and review features. The developer is not responsible for third-party service availability, failures, specification changes, suspension, or data handling.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available." The developer does not warrant accuracy, completeness, usefulness, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, absence of errors, preservation of data, or operation as expected on every device, OS, printer, sharing destination, or workflow. You are responsible for confirming tournament operations, match results, rankings, printed materials, posted materials, and shared files.
12. Limitation of liability
Except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence, the developer is not liable for data loss, incorrect entries, incorrect pairings, incorrect results, export or printing mistakes, tournament operation losses, lost profits, indirect damages, special damages, or disputes with third parties arising from use of or inability to use the App. Where liability cannot be excluded by law, the developer's liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for the App during the one-year period immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
13. Minors
Minors may use the App only with consent from a parent or legal guardian. If you enter or share names or affiliations of minors, you are responsible for obtaining necessary consent and handling that information carefully.
14. Changes to these Terms
The developer may change these Terms due to legal changes, App Store requirements, feature changes, or operational needs. Important changes may be announced in the App, on the App Store, or by other appropriate means. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Severability
If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Fukuoka District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for disputes related to the App or these Terms.
